Within families of Anatolia, usually there used to be a grandmother, a grandfather or an uncle whose identity wasn’t questioned. And these people had to wait for many years before to face with the reality. They either feared, abstained or realised their real identity after years.

Maybe for the first time, they had chance to think that there would still somebody from their family somewhere. Begining from its first issue, AGOS, the weekly published newspaper in turkish and armenian languages, became an important intermediary for many people with the help of advertisements, to find their relatives all over the world. Some have already found and some are still seeking.

Following this idea, the project of “Looking For My Relative” made its first trial in Galata neighborhood of Ýstanbul, last year. And in the year of 2007, it is targeted to extend this project to wider range of people. The majority of the people that is trying to reach their relatives through these advertisements, are living abroad. Considering this reality, we would also like to reach people living out of Turkey.
